Opioid-free anaesthesia (OFA) for elective cosmetic surgery: A role of processed EEG monitoring by Friedberg, Barry L.

Dr Barry published a guest editorial in the Indian Journal of Anaesthesia on an interesting topic related to opioid-free anaesthesia. Interestingly, sedation is being used for many surgical interventions, including cosmetic surgery, but the use of opioids safely remains a concern. Also, appropriate monitoring during the intervention is also mandatory.

Challenges in Data Sharing:

While the idea of data sharing in healthcare research is promising, it comes with numerous challenges. Data must meet the FAIR criteria, which stands for 'Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.' Achieving this level of data quality is feasible mainly when data are in electronic format. Unfortunately, the global adoption of EHR systems remains inconsistent.
